Therapist
I am a "boy mom" of 2. I enjoy all things outdoors - sports, endurance events, travel, concerts, watching my kids play, and being with friends.
-
Adults and children who are looking for support in their current stage of personal development. My clients often present to therapy with a wide range of goals they want to work on. These may include adjustment to life stressors and traumatic events, enhancing relationship and social functioning, addressing addiction concerns, finding strategies for attention/concentration issues, learning techniques to come back from dissociation/disconnect from their bodies, and/or seeking help with how to manage certain thoughts, moods, emotions and sensations.
-
I received my Master’s from Texas State University in May 2010 and have over 20 years experience in mental health. I have extensive training in the specific areas of child development and neuroscience; parenting/attachment; the effects, behavioral adaptations and treatment of trauma and chronic stress; mental health crisis intervention; and expressive therapies (play therapy, sand tray therapy, psychodrama, art, music, movement, etc.).
-
I utilize a variety of treatment modalities to fit an individual's needs, goals, preferences, and pace in therapeutic work. These include: exploration of family of origin and intergenerational trauma as it relates to current/presenting issues; lifestyle assessment; Internal Family Systems (IFS) framework and techniques; emotion and sensation regulation/modulation strategies (i.e., breath work, ventral vagal stimulation, somatic and grounding practices, co-regulation); trauma integration (using IFS, EMDR, EFT tapping, alternating bilateral stimulation with cognitive processing, etc.); psychoeducation and resourcing; mindfulness practices (meditation, body and breath work, self-awareness/consciousness building); meditation, yoga, Tai Chi and Qigong practices; cognitive-behavioral therapy; parenting/caregiver coaching; and expressive techniques (movement, music, writing, theatre/psychodrama, art, sand tray, play, recreation, Gestalt practice, etc.).
